It sure is nice to see a monster company like Apple investing in a project like this
via Urban Times
“In June of this year a brand new Appledata center miraculously appeared on Google Maps, in Catawba County, North Carolina, and is thought to be the house of the new iClouddata streams. The station is enormous, and requires equally enormous amounts of energy to power itself.
Fortunately, Apple has a tendency toward renewable energy at their data plants (their plants in Texas, California and Ireland are all 100% run on renewable energy). The new southern Catawba County data center will reportedly be installing a vast 171-acre wide solar farm as to minimize the carbon footprint and keep up with their sustainability promises. The solar farm will sit directly across the road from the data center and will feed directly into it.”
